CONVENTIONS

2. MISE EN SCENE
 The background of the interviews are relevant to what they are talking about
and the questions being asked.
 This makes the interview look more visually interesting.

3. GRAPHICS
 There are titles at the bottom of the screen which tell the name
and relevance of the person being interviewed
 Small image of JAWS placed in the corner of the screen on the
title strip- relevant to the topic.

4. RULE OF THIRDS
 Interviewee never in the centre of the shot, always sat off to the
side, this makes the interview look more interesting because you
can also see the background behind them.
 Never looking directly at the camera, looking slightly off.

5. OTHER
 Mid shot/ Medium close up shots- conventional of an interview.
 Don’t hear the questions being asked by the interviewer
 Interviews – A roll
 Cutaways- B roll.
 Other relevant footage in the video is used to cutaway from
interviews to help the editing process
