Walruses live in the cold waters of the Arctic Ocean.  When the ocean waters freeze they migrate south to warmer water and thinner ice.

Walruses are covered with thick skin.  Under the skin is 3 inches of blubber or fat. This keeps it warm and protects it from predators.
Facts  about walruses 1. A full grown male can weigh up to 2 tons. 2. A full grown cow or female can weigh up to one ton. 3. The skin is 3 inches thick. 4. Their tusks are almost impossible to break. 5. Each walrus has two pairs of flippers.  One pair is on the front of the body and the other pair is on the back.
