2. About the Project:
Following a previous asbestos removal operation that was undertaken to a very poor
standard, Deconstruct were appointed by the client’s consultant to remove all remaining
asbestos insulation debris from within the boiler house.
The Deconstruct team of operatives working under the direction of our Site Supervisor,
carefully removed all visible traces of asbestos debris using hand held scrapers and wire
brushes. The boiler house was then subject to a rigorous clearance test by the client’s
consultant before deemed clean enough for re-occupation.

3. Project Challenges:
Whilst all plant in the boiler house was
isolated prior to the commencement of our
works, the boiler house remained very
congested and working space was tight.
Any surfaces that did not have residue on
them were pre-cleaned and sheeted over.
All other surfaces including walls, ceilings,
pipework and plant were cleaned. Works
were programmed over the summer recess
and it was imperative that they were
satisfactorily completed on time to ensure
that the boiler’s and heating plant were
operational for the first day of term.
