Promoted restoration services through name recognition and company branding. Used my
extensive network of constituents and colleagues to establish the commercial branch of this
restoration company. Separated from company in March 2016 to focus on personal
opportunities.
1998-2015 Allstate Insurance, Clayton NC Owner/Agent
Created from scratch, one of only two Allstate Insurance Agencies in Johnston County and
built it to 2.6 million dollars in annual insurance premium. This was accomplished through
sales of personaland commerciallinesof insurance and salesof financialproducts. Maintained
88% customer retention and 45% loss ratio. Ranked as one of the top agents in North Carolina
for Customer Satisfaction. Awarded Top in Company and achieved status as top five percent
of agency force of 12,000 Allstate agents nationwide over multiple years. Sold my agency in
March 2015.
1988-1998 North Carolina State Auditor's Office, Raleigh NC Assistant State Auditor
Conducted Financial and Fraud audits of State, County, and Local Governmental agencies
throughout the state of North Carolina. Discovered over $25 million in fraud, waste and abuse
throughout the state.
COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP:
2008 - Present Elected member Johnston County Board of Education
One of a seven member board that governs 44 schools, $250 million budget, 35,000 children
and 4,500 employees. Directs position of the Superintendent.

(Term beginning November 2016)
The Johnston County Board of Commissioners is the overall governing body for the County. I
will be one of a seven member board that directs the office of the County Manager, controls a
multi-million dollar budget and oversees the economic and social prosperity of the county.

The town’s Planning Board is responsible for the future economic growth of the community.
I was one of a seven member board that assessed and approved requests for new business
opportunities, neighborhoods, and economic enterprise.
2003 & 2008 President, Clayton Chamber of Commerce
As President, I served as an ambassador for the business community in Clayton. Included
oversight of the Chamber Board of Directors and senior advisor to the Executive Director for
daily operations.
