                                                       Andy Shambarger
                                                       Internet Director

                                                       Toledo,OH

“The conference exceeded my expectations in that I have a broader understanding of
what's happening in the US market, with regard to Internet initiatives. It was pleasing
to learn that the way we currently do things in Australia could be considered on par
with many US dealers, which may enable us to adopt some of the many exciting
products & services available as we begin to realise the benefits of developing our
                                                       online presence.”

“I attend several conferences each year and for the past 2 years the AAISP Digital
Dealer conference has provided me with more real-world business practice
improvements than any other. In 2006 our team from Courtesy Chevrolet went back to
the dealership from the conference with new techniques that allowed us to increase
used vehicle sales dramatically. In 2007 we brought back several new operational
processes, but one related to URL acquisition began to pay off for us before the 2007
                                                       conference ended!”

“Being brand new in this business, all information I gained was extremely worthwhile.
It taught me how to identify, and identify with, the Internet shopper.”

“I was able to see the vendors gathered in a group and see what they had to offer one
after another while it was fresh. The networking was great and I enjoyed comparing
notes with other professionals in my field.”

                                                       were doing”

                                                       Littleton, CO

“As web manager for Columbia Sportswear for the last 9 years I had a fairly decent
background regarding the web. As such, I have been struggling to get my arms around
the dealership world. This conference was a great immersion tool for me to more
quickly identify how I can help my dealerships in my new position as eMarketing

“A great conference. I went into it expecting to glean a few ideas to help me back at
the dealership, yet came away with a notebook full of exciting ideas that will be
systematically implemented in the upcoming year.”

                                                       Savannah, GA

“I gained awareness of: tools available now, trends in Internet marketing, the
intensity and techniques used by some competitors, a broader appreciation of the
website as a "virtual showroom" and some hints for improving our own. Our owner is
a forward-moving dealer. His investment in sending me affirmed the significance of
the role I serve and challenged me toward creative and aggressive advances in how
we do things both in marketing and in processing Internet-driven leads.”

“I just started in this industry four months ago. I am getting my feet wet in Internet
sales. I was able to understand more about Internet shoppers, woman buyers, E-Bay,
and other avenues to do business.”

“I found this conference to be quite valuable. My goal was to collect information on
best practices and fundamental information on how to best sell to our customers via
the Internet. We have a long way to go, but I've got a better idea of the path.”

“The conference gave me a barometer of what is being done, who is doing it, and with
the right tools, what CAN be done. That was great - some great ideas for me to bring
                                                       back.”

3rd Digital Dealer Conference & Exposition: October 1-3, 2007

                                                       Burritt Motors
                                                       Oswego, NY

“The annual AAISP Digital Dealer conference has quickly become a "must-attend"
event for me. Just when you think you're good - you're WOW'd by the best practices
and creativity of a myriad of Internet professionals. The "cafeteria plan" that I bring
back to my dealership has been an indispensable advantage. I'm selfishly glad that my
                                                       competitors haven't yet attended!”

Digital Dealer Magazine Com Conference 2007 Speakers

  • 1. 3rd Digital Dealer Conference & Exposition: October 1-3, 2007 Home Agenda Speakers Exhibitors Registration Hotel/Travel Speakers The planning of the speaking program for the 2007 Fall Digital Dealer Conference & Exposition is well under way and promises to not only build on the previous two events, but will reach even higher in helping fulfill attendees’ goals and aspirations. Below are some of the confirmed speakers, touching on some of the topics they will be presenting on. Keep checking back as we round out a fantastic program that will absolutely have a direct, positive affect on your efforts in your store(s) when you get back. REGISTER HERE Jim Ziegler, “The Dealer Advocate” will give the opening keynote address, and is responsible for the title of the conference, “It’s Time To Get Serious About The Internet”. Besides writing the most widely read column in the retail automotive 3rd Annual Digital Dealer industry for Dealer magazine, Jim is a Certified Professional Speaker and has Conference & Exhibition October 1–3, 2007 spoken at innumerable state and metro dealer association events. Jim is Las Vegas Hilton consistently one of the top two or three rated speakers at the NADA Convention & Las Vegas, Nevada Exposition. He always finds the right combination of sharing valuable information and entertaining his audiences. You will NOT soon forget the time you heard Jim For information, contact Jan Cobb at: Ziegler speak in Las Vegas. In 2005, Allan Cooper was named one of ten “Internet Pioneers” by J.D. Power Phone: (678) 936-4009 and Associates. Allan was doing CRM…when CRM was not yet “cool”, taking advantage of technology to build relationships and sell vehicles. Allan’s depth of E-mail: jcobb@premcor.net knowledge, “been there done that” experience and forward thinking, combined with his easy speaking style and “Aussie” accent and sense of humor, always guarantee that hearing him speak will be a valuable and memorable experience. Allen will be "Having sold online for 3+ sharing his vast knowledge, experience and expertise regarding CRM and retail years and just transitioned automotive sales. to the role of ISM, the conference was a wonderful source of information." Christopher Ferris has been the sales systems manager at Saab Nashua North, located in southern New Hampshire, for six years. He is a former executive John Schmitz recruiter, Fortune 500 corporate security manager and U.S. Army I.S.M. tactical intelligence officer who served in both infantry and special forces units. Beaman Automotive Chris received the most creative Internet Sales Professional award at the March Nashville, TN 2007 AAISP digital dealer conference in Nashville, Tennessee. Click here to view Ferris’ conference session, titled “Who are You? I Really Want to Know - Learn all all attendee quotes About Your Customer Before You Ever Contact Them” will offer insights into how you can use his methods of extracting available information about potential customers from the Internet before ever having a conversation with the prospect. As an award-winning ISM for Courtesy Chevrolet in Phoenix Arizona, Ralph Paglia became recognized as a leading-edge authority on Internet automotive sales. Interviews, accolades, cover stories and speaking invitations followed and today, Ralph is Director of Digital Marketing for ADP Dealer Services. His session is tentatively titled "Transactional eCommerce Web Sites for Car Dealers." “A transactional Web site allows a consumer to do the same thing as existing transactional websites. New digital marketing prototypes are being piloted by several major dealer groups, allowing consumers to pick a car from the dealership's inventory, negotiate a price, get approved for financing, select their accessories and F&I products, pay their down payment to the dealer online, and receive a DMS generated deal number and full finance disclosures on a real time basis,” says Paglia. http://digitaldealer-magazine.com/issues/DD_conference_2007/speakers.shtml (1 of 3) [7/12/2007 5:42:52 PM]
  • 2. 3rd Digital Dealer Conference & Exposition: October 1-3, 2007 Sandi Jerome is Editor of Digital Dealer magazine, a former dealership controller, system administrator, F&I manager, Assistant GM and Fixed Operations Manager. Sandi owns Sandi Jerome Computer Consulting and a CRM software company, and is considered the “guru” of dealership technology issues. Sandi’s session is titled “10 Things Internet Sales Managers Have Always Wanted to Ask... But Don’t”. How is gross profit calculated in car deals? Why are there chargebacks? What does the pack do? How does that R+R/ADP/UCS system work? Can I measure the profitability of my Internet department? What kind of reports can I run and how? How is buy rate determined? If you have questions that you've always wanted to ask the controller, general manager, or F&I manager, here is your chance to ask. Sandi Jerome has over 30 years in the business and knows how the accounting office, F&I office, and whole dealership works including your DMS systems and other technology. Attend this seminar to find out how the "other world" works and feel free to ask her any question you've always wanted ask…but haven’t. This session is a must…after all, the time is coming when dealerships will be run by ex-ISMs. Mike Stewart is the “guru” of Internet audio, podcasting & video blogging tools. Mike comes from outside of the retail automotive business to share his insights, experience and expertise because this opportunity is going to be HUGE going forward. Don’t wait until you see your competition using these tools and technologies, get out ahead of the pack, because you know it’s headed this direction. Craig Criswell is a regular contributor to Digital Dealer magazine. Craig started writing for Digital Dealer when he was an Internet Sales Manager. Craig then founded Internet Certified Dealer, a consulting and training organization for the retail automotive industry. Today, Craig is…back in the saddle again as an Internet Sales Manager. So Craig has been there, done that, taught others how to do it and now he’s doing it himself again. Craig will be sharing what he sees as the most compelling issues ISMs face, and how to deal with them and/or take advantage with them. For such a young guy, Todd Smith goes waaaaaaaay back in the retail automobile business. For years, Todd sold vehicles at new and used dealerships, before embarking on a career as a dealership sales technology expert. Todd was speaking as an authority at Internet sales conferences 7-8 years ago. Maybe he just looks young…or has a youthful attitude? After spending a number of years as VP of Marketing for DealerUps, Todd took over a friend’s struggling NJ Chevrolet dealership in the last year. Todd is putting into practice all the technologies / solutions / applications that he has explained / pitched / promoted over the years and the results have been staggering. Find out how he’s doing it. Kathy Kimmel began her automotive career with DaimlerChrysler, where she worked as a district manager supporting sales and service initiatives as well as Five star processes. Kathy also served as manager of a business development center (BDC) for two Mercedes Benz stores and she led her department to contribute 25 percent to 30 percent of the store’s monthly sales. She also directed training/ customer satisfaction programs for 27 AutoNation retail locations. Kathy brings more than 15 years automotive industry and dealership management experience to her role as a training manager for Cars.com. Her expertise covers every aspect of the dealership, from managing sales and service operations to driving customer satisfaction and implementing training programs to mentor new employees and groom seasoned managers. Her current daily responsibilities include creating and performing training for dealership personnel that focuses on best practices for Internet sales. OTHER CONFIRMED SPEAKERS: Roy Ruetter - e-Business Director, Sheehy Auto Stores, 20 franchises, 16 rooftops. Rafi Hamid - Group Director of e-Commerce, Napleton Auto Group, overseeing Internet sales, service and parts for dealerships in four states. Corey Mosley- Mosley Automotive Group. • 4. 3rd Digital Dealer Conference & Exposition: October 1-3, 2007 Home Agenda Speakers Exhibitors Registration Hotel/Travel "It's Time To Get Serious About The Internet" REGISTER HERE 3rd Annual Digital Dealer Conference & Exhibition October 1–3, 2007 Las Vegas Hilton Las Vegas, Nevada For information, contact Jan Cobb at: Welcome, to the official website of the 3rd Digital Dealer Conference & Exposition. Phone: (678) 936-4009 Based on the success of the AAISP Digital Dealer Conference & Expositions in Nashville the last two E-mail: jcobb@premcor.net springs, and also on much input from attendees, we’ve realized that once per year is just not often enough for an event such as this. So we’re heading to Las Vegas this October and will head back East in Spring 2008, holding this event twice annually. "Trying to get old school car guys to understand the Because as one attendee succinctly put it, “In today’s marketplace, change happens so quickly, one year importance of this new way is what five years used to be”. of communication is very difficult. The conference Well, we certainly can’t have an event this important once every five years. Technology is evolving, best provided me with lots of practices are changing, processes are improving, new solutions are arriving, competitors are catching up facts, numbers and results (or surpassing)…there is only one way to stay ahead of the curve, and that’s by attending this event. to present to my GM." Vickie Munsey Whether your dealership(s) are trendsetters, just getting started, or anywhere in between, the 3rd Internet Sales Director Digital Dealer Conference & Exposition is a MUST-attend event. From the uber-informative industry- Superior Volvo expert led sessions to the unmatched peer networking opportunities to the Exhibit Hall, the place to meet Kansas City, MO current and potential vendors in an atmosphere where you can discuss, evaluate and compare products, services, solutions and technologies that will increase your business…someone from your dealership(s) has GOT to be there. Click here to view all attendee quotes PLUS, for the first time, we’re offering a ½ day “Newbie” training session, so that even the newest neophyte to the business can get up to speed and get the max out of the two days of sessions and events. ALSO, we’ve taken the input from 114 attendee surveys from the last event and made the following improvements to make this event even better than the previous two combined: ● Longer sessions than the last two conferences - more time for presentation - more time for Q&A. ● More peers and consultants / trainers speaking, less vendors speaking - predominately practitioners and consultants / trainers doing the speaking. ● All sessions will be how-to, hands-on, nuts & bolts, execution-oriented - we're avoiding overviews and future prognostications. Just the facts, ma'am. http://digitaldealer-magazine.com/issues/DD_conference_2007/index.shtml (1 of 2) [7/12/2007 5:42:55 PM]
  • 5. 3rd Digital Dealer Conference & Exposition: October 1-3, 2007 ● More peer networking opportunities - more time to do what most attendees seemed to get the most out of - networking with peers from across the country (plus Australia, Canada, and Nigeria last conference). ● 1 large exhibit hall for 50+ exhibitors - all exhibitors will be in one HUGE exhibit hall to make best use of your time when talking to them. ● A new "Newbie" 1/2 day training session for those new to internet automative sales held on the afternoon before the conference starts. Get up-to-speed and get the most out of the power- packed 2-day conference. Dealers and GM's welcome! ● "Twist" pens given out instead of "click" pens on a suggestion they would be less distracting during sessions (why didn't we think of that?). So don’t delay…we sold out the last two conferences, don’t miss out on the biggest and best one yet. REGISTER NOW! ©2007 Dealer Communications.
