Nissan Motor Company is a global automaker headquartered in Tokyo, Japan. It was established in 1933 and has over 123,000 employees. In the early 2000s, Nissan faced challenges with long order-to-delivery times of over 30 days for vehicles in Japan and 40 days in the US. To address this, Nissan implemented the Nissan Production Way and the concept of Douki-Seisan, or synchronized production, to better coordinate manufacturing with customer orders and reduce order-to-delivery times to under 14 days.
