‣ Reaching out to local students for (1) Hackathon(s), and (2)
Startup Design Weekends - where participants work on
their startup idea in a 3-day residential program.
‣ In these programs, participants will learn frameworks to help
them build a startup (i.e. customer development, human
centered design, business model innovation, future
thinking).

‣ After these programs, participants will keep refining (or pivot)
their idea in Taghyir Lab, and present their finding at the end
of Week 2.

INVESTMENT DEALS
Week 16 - 20
‣ By
the end of Week 16, startups will exploit further the
customer segment, and be expected to bring in revenue
(note: revenue may not necessitate profit).
‣ Startups
who are looking to raise more funds, will begin
early investment round from angel investors or
governmental grants.
‣ Demoday will happen on week 20, for startups to showcase
their final products and accomplishments. Startups will be
pitching to angel investor who are the primary audience.

10. EXIT STRATEGY

aghyir lab will be investing in each of the 20 startups
that reach phase 2. This will be T
agyir’s business model
and engagement strategy with its portfolio startups.
SEED FUNDING
‣ Startups
at build stage (Phase 3) will receive RM15,000 of
seed funding for 10% equity of the business. This means
Tagyhir Lab will be a partner in the business.
‣ Taghyir
Lab will exit the startup at either the Angel round or
Pre-Series Round, at the Net Present Valuation at the time of
the funding round.
‣ Taghyir Lab, may lead or participate in a syndicated round of
funding in subsequent funding cycles.

GOVERNMENTAL GRANT
‣ To cover operational cost of running Taghyir Lab - as part of
nation building and harnessing of high-growth and
technological Malaysian Entrepreneurs.
‣ Operational cost to cover free open workshops and usage of
facilities, as well as specially curated programs for Taghyir
startups.
