2. يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَلْتَنظُرْ نَفْسٌ مَّا قَدَّمَتْ لِغَدٍ وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ خَبِيرٌ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ 59:18 O YOU who have attained to faith! Remain conscious of God; and let every human being look to what he sends ahead for the morrow! And [once again]: Remain conscious of God, for God is fully aware of all that you do; PUSAT ISLAM UNIVERSITI UTARA MALAYSIA ISLAMIC CENTRE UNIVERSITI UTARA MALAYSIA

3. My fellow brothers in Islam; Lets recall back what we have learned from the story of Prophet Nuh Alaihis Salam and his people. Prophet Nuh Alaihis Salam faced tremendous challenges in the period of his da’wah. Eventhough Allah allowed him to live 1350 years, only a number of his people were following his preach. 4. Throughout his preach, he received a lot of disrespect and insolence actions. As a result, Allah commanded His army to destroy the people of Nuh with a big flood. This incident was stated in Surah Al-Araf verse: 64 فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَنجَيْنَاهُ وَالَّذِينَ مَعَهُ فِي الْفُلْكِ وَأَغْرَقْنَا الَّذِينَ كَذَّبُواْ بِآيَاتِنَا إِنَّهُمْ كَانُواْ قَوْماً عَمِينَ PUSAT ISLAM UNIVERSITI UTARA MALAYSIA ISLAMIC CENTRE UNIVERSITI UTARA MALAYSIA

5. 7:64 And yet they gave him the lie! And so We saved him and those who stood by him, in the ark, the while We caused those who had given the lie to Our messages to drown: verily, they were blind folk! From that story, we can cloclude that one of the reasons ofthe big flood was because of disobedient and arrogance showed by people of Nuh. 6. The Al-Mighty God will not punish us unless we promote mischeief througout the world. This based on Surah Al-Hud verse 117; 11:117 For, never would thy Sustainer destroy a community for wrong [beliefs alone] so long as its people behave righteously [towards one another]. وَمَا كَانَ رَبُّكَ لِيُهْلِكَ الْقُرَى بِظُلْمٍ وَأَهْلُهَا مُصْلِحُونَ PUSAT ISLAM UNIVERSITI UTARA MALAYSIA ISLAMIC CENTRE UNIVERSITI UTARA MALAYSIA

7. Another story that we should remember is the story of Prophet Hud and his people. Similar to Prophet Nuh, Prophet Hud also faced the same circumstance during his lifetime and his da’wahperiod. From the stories, we as Muslims must rethink of our past and the deeds that we have done. We must believe the epidemic befall on us is because of our past deeds. 8. Even though a lot of reasons were given to justify the problems that occur, we must believe that it wasthe result of the deeds that we have done. Therefore, let us take this opportunity to ask forgiveness from Allah the Al-Mighty God before He test us with biggertragedy and serious epidemic.
