2. Cheetahs Book
Intelligence
Cheetahs are carnivores; they eat meat just like us.
They are predators so they hunt their prey. They run
very fast to catch their prey. The Cheetah hunts
gazelles, gnus, antelopes and warthogs. They also
prey on impala, springbok, kob, lesser kudu and
blackbuck. The Cheetah will lock its' eyes on its'
victim and when running it swerves in unison with its'
prey.
3. Communication
The most common call is a birdlike chirp, such as
when calling its' young. It yelps when it is excited.
It hisses and snarls when it is angry.
4. It purrs when it is
happy just like a
cat you may have
as a pet at home.
5. Family Connection
Females tend to live alone unless their cubs decide to
stay with them. Most males live alone, but sometimes
they live in coalitions of 2-4 which last for the males
lifetime.
6. Your parents are with
you as a baby, until
you are old enough to
leave and live by
yourself. You leave
them behind, but you
still get to see your
parents. It is the
same with cheetah
cubs. They leave their
parents when they are
ready.
