This slide is from 2009, and contains 5 areas which I thought were critical, at the time, for e-books in libraries, and which, in my oppinion, needed to be improved. When thinking about this presentation, I was intrigued to check if these are still relevant points. “ Yes” to all.
So, what has changed I the meantime? E-books are becoming more popular. Best growing segment of publishing history. Readers. Amazon Expands Global App Distribution to Nearly 200 Countries.
As for print books – we are witnessing some very inventive ideas …
… book sculptures … (new way of reading Romeo and Juliet)
… and a bit of nostalgia …
Libraries get inventive too…
What is interesting is that e-books are
Printing of books is not dead – it continues to develop
What is happening in NZ?
… are present in e-book game for many years already
The presence of public libraries increses, but …
E-Lending – another area where e- imitates print
How important e-Lending is, proves the fact that even Amazon has digital lending library!
Need for improvement is not a matter of past, it continues in the future too. But I would like to add a few changes.
