PERSONAL STATEMENT
I have recently completed my degree in Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering at
the University of Pretoria. I think of myself as an adaptable, focused and hardworking
individual that has a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering. I
am currently looking for my first job so that I can develop my skills learnt at
university. I have interests in the mining sector as well as the generalized mechanical
field.

Leadership Roles
During my secondary education at Hilton College I held the position of dormitory
leader, my duties were to oversee 14 younger boys and make sure they were well
looked after as well as performing frequent inspections. I also captained the second
team cricket side as well as held two portfolios where leadership was gained.

Achievements
o This was a vacation job where I spent 6 weeks aiding in the conversion of a
Toyota Land Cruiser to a game vehicle. The car was a right-off and we rebuilt
the vehicle back to working condition. During this job I designed some
components for the new vehicle and performed some manual work.
o Fixed most of their go-karts that they use for corporate events, this included
some machining and welding.
o Aided in the completion of their prized off road racing car, this entailed
putting the engine in and the overall assembly of the car.

o This was also a vacation job where I worked on and off for 6 weeks helping
them with Solidworks designs.
o Helped design a room layout and components to improve efficiency for their
rollers used in mining conveyors.
o Performed simple stock take as well as compiled a parts list for various
projects along with pricing.
