1. Project Charter
Unit 66 seconds and 3 learning outcomes
Be able to devise 3D models
Be able to create 3D models following industry practice.
Using the skills that I have developed while developing my lightbot, in Newtek LightWaves’s
Modeller, I have a week to complete this task, and my sidekick will need to be completed in its
appearance, function and character. I will develop a design pack and then work from this to create
my 3D robot sidekick, being sure to manage the project carefully at each of the stages of developing
my sidekick. I have my schedule and production log setup and I will update them at least once a
week. Tasks 3,4 and 5 will be important in demonstrating my ability to devise my 3D model, while
tasks 6 and 7 will allow me to show that I can create 3D models following industry practice. My
evaluation for task 8 will be a good way of reflecting on how I have devised and created my
character concept.
Unit 13’s fourth learning outcome
Be able to use project management techniques commonly used in the games industry.
I will update my schedule and production log during my study time as well as at the end of each
lesson that I have been working on my sidekick. I will also be able to set myself now targets each
time for the next lesson. These will need to be realistic and achievable. With my evaluation, schedule
and production log I can form the evidence of how I have project managed the assignment. I should
be able to work out whether or not I can achieve my goals and those of the client. This will help me
move onto the next assignment.
