Oscar Mayer: Say It With Bacon
Oscar Mayer seems to think that, when words aren’t enough, we can always “say it with bacon”, making bacon the
perfect gift no matter the occasion. With this idea they have launched a website where users can buy 3 gift packages for
Father’s Day, each containing a packet of bacon strips inside a velvet jewelry box, accompanied by either a bacon-
themed cufflinks, a multitool, or a money-clip engraved with the words “Bringin’ it home.” So far the packages are sold
out!

Amnesty International has launched a website, Trial by Timeline, that analyses Facebook profiles for potencial “crimes”
under international law. The web has been developed in New Zeland, considered the freest country on earth, to
highlight that what we consider normal in free countries can be illegal and punished in others. The web shows you what
crimes you’d be guilty of and the punishment for those convictions in an effort to remind us that we can’t take our
freedom for granted.

Scrabble: Wi-Fi Scrabble
To improve spelling and have some fun, Scrabble created Wi-Fi Scrabble. You just had to join the ‘Scrabble Wi-Fi
Network’ and challenge yourself to win free Wi-Fi minutes in places where there wasn’t any by turning scrabble words
into passwords to access the Wi-Fi connection. The higher you score, the longer the connection. In order to make it
possible, they set special vans with a portable Wi-Fi connections around Paris to find the places where people needed
better internet connections the most.

Club SangueBom: Donor Cable
Club SangueBom, a project focusing on blood donation, has made a gadget based on the idea that fresh blood is like
electricity for smartphones. To increase the number of regular blood donors, they built “The Donor Cable” that enables
a way to transfer power between smartphones. The simple mechanism symbolizes the relationship between the blood
donor and the patient: you only need to connect a fully charged cell phone (donor) to a receiver that needs charging.

Points, the world’s most advanced street sign, is the new work of Breakfast New York, famous for creating cool
connected objects. What seems to be a standard street sign, is in fact a socially connected object, able to transcribe
what’s happening in the world and bring the directions and information it finds to people, displaying it across it’s 3
directional arms.

New Facebook hashtag system
Everybody had them already (twitter, instagram, google+…) and now Facebook has them too. This June Facebook
posted:
“Starting today, hashtags will be clickable on Facebook. Similar to other services like Instagram, Twitter, Tumblr, or
Pinterest, hashtags on Facebook allow you to add context to a post or indicate that it is part of a larger discussion. When
you click on a hashtag in Facebook, you’ll see a feed of what other people and Pages are saying about that event or
topic.”
The hashtag system would work like the others we are used to. Users would be able to search for hashtags and
hashtags shared by content from other services will also work, although it will only show Facebook content.

Coca-Cola: PlaceLists
Empowered by the idea that every song has a place and everyplace has a song, Coca-Cola and Spotify have created
PlaceLists, the Foursquare of the music. Placelists is a location-based global app for the Web that will be featured on
Spotify. It provides a new platform for Spotify users to share and update playlists around the world. Music fans from one
city/country can listen and vote on songs being played in a different city/country. Coke will also use PlaceLists to
showcase songs from 52 emerging artists.

Musée de la la Grande Guerre du pays de Meaux: Facebook 1914
This World War I museum in France came up with a cool way to use Facebook as a vehicle to make history a more
human experience using social media. For “Facebook 1914,” they created a Facebook profile for a fictional French
WWI soldier, Leon Vivien in order to tell a year of history as a human story. Based on all of the museum’s information,
Facebook shows Vivien as a teacher who was thrown into the war. Vivien’s Facebook posts include comments
between him and friends, his life as a teacher, weapons, battles…giving people an inside look into what life was like for
a WWI soldier.

Adobe: Photoshop Live Street Retouch
.
Adobe made possible this fun photoshop live street retouch prank to promote its Creative Days. All it took was one
photoshop artist, people standing at a bus stop and hidden cameras to display, in real time, retouched images on a
digital panel inside the bus stop shelter.

Coca-Cola: Put on a smile
“Put on a smile” is a wearable movie created by Coca-Cola to spread smiles across the world. For this animated short clip,
Coca Cola printed each frame on a t-shirt and sent them to its employees and fans. Those who received a t-shirt had to
take a picture with it and send it through. Then all the pictures came together and so the wearable movie was born.
