On this platform, we can have different
foundations (called courses).

This is where we put our bricks on (activities,
resources, modules, plugins, blocks, filters).

Sick or absent students don't need to fall behind,
because their courses and assignments can be online!
And if the school closes in case of an emergency,
learning can still go on because everything can be
                       ONLINE
We can have as many basic bricks as we want.
But we can get many other, compatible bricks too.

  1. Moodle (noun) - acronym for Modular Object-Oriented Dynamic Learning Environment. An online learning management system (LMS), designed to create opportunities for rich interaction between teachers and learners.
  2. To moodle (verb) - process of enjoyable tinkering that often leads to growing knowledge, insight and creativity. It applies both to the way Moodle was developed, and to the way we may use it to teach and learn.
  3. Ever seen or played with Legos Imagine Moodle as a platform that comes with a great set of bricks
  4. On this platform, we can have different foundation (called courses.) This is where we put our bricks on (activities, resources, modules, plugins, blocks, filters)
  5. Let’s Imagine we can do four basic things with four basic colors of bricks. Store Communicate Evaluate Collaborate
  6. We can store Files, Links Webpages, Folders, Databases and More
  7. For example we can store virtually any digital documents images, text files and audio or video files. We can build course pages and keep everything organized with labels And more
  8. Parents and students can communicate in amazing new ways through Chatrooms, Forums, Calendars and Blogs
  9. For example we can.. Send and receive private instant messages and email notifications to students and parents We can have class discussions online, debate, role play have Q and A sessions and more
  10. We can collaborate though blogs, wikis, lessons, forums and more
  11. For example students can Publish, reflect, keep notes and collaborate on group work And they can jointly create, store and search class collections of files, photos and websites.
  12. Moodle can evaluate students using online quizzes and assignments.
  13. Parents will be able access grades of online quizzes and assignments, and they will be able to see feedback from teachers. Students can voice their opinions using surveys and ratings and much more
  14. If your student is sick and misses a couple of days, he or she does not have to fall behind because their courses and assignments will be online!
  15. We can have as many basic bricks as we want.
  16. But we can get many other compatible bricks too such as Google Apps that incorporates email and calendars and will allow students to collaborate together on assignments using Google Docs. A translator can be one of these bricks and all types of neat widgets can be linked into Moodle.
  17. We can arrange the bricks that fit in any way that suits our educational and/or business purpose.
  18. For that reason we have roles such as admin, teacher, student and parent. The parents will be able to see important information such as grades and teacher comments pertaining to their student
  19. Moodle is Robust and Secure, Your children will be save using Moodle. Everything that is done is trackable. Only people with an account can access the site. It is a safe place for your children to go on the Internet because it is created and maintained by their teachers.
  20. Many other international schools are already using Moodle for example the American International Schools of Bankok, Dubai, and Vienna. Universities are also using Moodle UCLA Texas A and M MIT just to name a few
  21. The yellow dots indicate where Moodle is already being used and the number of users keeps growing every year.
  22. What Kind of Blocks do you want to see on Our Moodle Site?
