Core Capabilities
Education: The Mid-Atlantic Center for Emergency Management provides academic credentials
including Letters of Recognition, Certificates, and Associate of Applied Science degrees. Through a unique
partnership with FEMA’s Emergency Management institute (EMI), the Mid-Atlantic Center for Emergency
Management serves as the sole provider of college credit to those completing FEMA online Independent Study
Program (ISP) courses. Frederick Community College is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher
Education, 3624 Market Street, Philadelphia, PA 19104, (267) 284-5000, and its programs are endorsed by the
Maryland Higher Education Commission.
