The physiology exam consists of two theory papers and two practical sessions. Theory Paper 1 covers general physiology, blood, cardiovascular, respiratory, GIT, and renal systems. Theory Paper 2 covers endocrine, special senses, nervous system, nerve-muscle physiology, skin/body temperature, and reproduction. Practical I involves clinical exams and procedures on subjects. Practical II involves hematology experiments and interpreting case histories/problems. Both practical sessions are 2 hours each and carry 35 marks testing different exam components.

marks, each practical will be of 2 hours duration.

c. Clinical examination of pulse
d. Clinical examination of nervous system:
• Examination of cranial nerves.
• Examination of sensory system.
• Examination of motor system
• Examination of reflexes
Procedures on Human Subjects 20 marks
a. Spirometry- Measurement of spirometric parameters.
b. Recording of ECG
c. Recording of blood pressure
d. Effects of posture and exercise on BP.
Each student will get one clinical experiment and one human subject
experiment.

b. Total count of WBC.
c. Total count of RBC.
d. Total count of platelets.
e. Absolute eosinophil count
• Minor 10 marks
a. Blood grouping.

2. Interpretation of case histories / problems(calculations) 10 marks
Calculations 5 marks
Case history 5 marks
Each student will get one major and one minor hematology experiment
+ one calculation and one case history.
