2. Baritone It looks like a small tuba. It is half as big as the tuba and plays the same range of the trombone. The sound of the baritone is mellower then the trombone. Is sometimes called the cello because of its mellow tone.
3. Trumpet The highest of the brass instruments with its bright, powerful,majestic tone.The modern trumpet has 3 valves and is cytrical in shape with a narrow bore.It uses a cup-shaped mouthpiece.
4. Cornet A brassed valved instrument. Is very similar to the trumpet. Fingering and compassis the same, but it has a wider bore. It's mainly used in military bands.
5. Horn The horn has a conical tube,and funnel shaped mouthpiece. A middle ranged instrument. It has a mellow majestic tone. Blending well with the woodwinds as well as producing a powerful tone.
6. Trombone The trombone has no valves just a slide. It uses the tenor clef in its highests register to avoid use of ledger lines. The first uses of trombones were used in a symphony occurs in the last movement of Beethoven's 5 th symphony.
7. Tuba It plays the lowest notes in the brass family. It spends most of its time strengthening the bass line , playing the lowest parts of the horns. It gas a gruff coarse-tone and rarely plays a tone.
