16. Why is this Important? Rising rates of childhood obesity Obesity rates continue to rise among children age 10 to 17
17. Why Is This Important? Only 1/3 of all Americans meet the government's minimum guidelines for physical activity - 2½ hours a week of moderate-intensity activity. Guidelines Adult Guidelines: Adults should do a minimum of 2 hours and 30 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic activity a week by doing activities like brisk walking, ballroom dancing, or general gardening Children and adolescents aged 6–17 years should accumulate 1 hour or more of physical activity daily. The 1 hour of activity should be mostly aerobic but should also include muscle-strengthening and bone-strengthening activities.
18. Nutrition Truth: Exercise alone isn’t going to cut it. We have to make the conscious effort to make healthier choices overall, including what we eat.
