The UTRS is an organization based in Cape Town, South Africa that was founded in 2004 by refugee and asylum seeker students to promote access to tertiary education and support for refugees and asylum seekers pursuing higher education. The UTRS aims to address financial difficulties refugee students face, treat them equally to domestic students, and help those who had to interrupt their studies due to conflicts. It advocates for human rights and inclusion of refugees in education to allow them to achieve their full potential.
