is hosting an open house for existing and prospective customers of our award-winning IBM Cloud and
Smarter Infrastructure OMEGAMON®
software. You are invited to a complimentary session that will show you
how to use the new Parameter Generator (ParmGen) install tool.
Objective
Learn how to configure new installation environments using ParmGen or learn how to convert from ICAT and
retain your current customizations. The workshop will illustrate how easy and intuitive ParmGen is to use. During
this event, customers are invited to explore and exercise the newly ParmGen installation tool and process in a live
IBM System z®
environment.
Audience
This Proof of Technology is intended for any staff that will be installing or configuring any solutions that
previously used the ICAT (Installation and Configuration Assistance Tool) and will now be deployed using
ParmGen. These solutions included the OMEGAMON suite and other solutions that have agents feeding
information to the IBM Tivoli® Enterprise Portal.

Obtain hands-on experience using the new ParmGen install tool
Obtain hands-on experience about the ParmGen process flow and capabilities
This workshop consists of two labs:
• Using ParmGen to deploy solutions for a new pristine installation
• Using ParmGen to migrate an existing ICAT configuration to a ParmGen configuration and apply a model
configuration
