This document summarizes a MARAC Fall 2011 meeting in Bethlehem, PA about using social media and apps in archives. The meeting discussed institutional preparedness for being social, needing resources and commitment, and finding new uses and audiences for social media while retaining authority. Speakers at the meeting were from the University of Rochester, Duke University, Virginia Historical Society, and Tufts University and focused on their experiences using social media.
