T.Rex and Triceratops are SO last season! New for summer are the Chinasaurs - foreign
creatures with exotic names that represent the very latest dinosaur discoveries. Immerse yourself
in the prehistoric past and learn why China is the current pinnacle of paleontology.

Chinasaurs features more than 20 full-scale dinosaur skeletons – up to 42 feet long – and
fossilized dinosaur nests and eggs. Five animatronic Chinasaurs that move around in life-like
ways bring the Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous Periods to life. Interactive dig pits, hands-on
“touchable” fossils and craft stations will further immerse you in the Chinasaurs experience!

Extend your journey to the past by enhancing your Chinasaurs visit with an IMAX® film! The
money-saving Double Dino package combines prehistoric China with ancient oceans by pairing
the Chinasaurs exhibit with the new IMAX® film, Sea Rex: Journey to a Prehistoric World.

modern-day aquatic center. Soon the movie whisks you back through the Triassic, Jurassic and
Cretaceous periods to discover creatures like the powerful Liopleurodon, the long-necked
Elasmosaurus, the “eye-lizard” Ophthalmosaurus, the ferocious Prognathodon and the massive
Shonisaurus.

A perfect companion to Chinasaurs, the money-saving Double Dino package combines Sea Rex
with Chinasaurs - the dinosaur exhibit that celebrates prehistoric China.

SUMMER CHILDREN’S ROGRAMS
Monday, June 13 – Friday, August 19, 2011
MNS’ Science Building (1318 S. 2nd Ave. in Fair Park)

It’s not too late to get in on the popular summer programs MNS has to offer! Our programs offer
fun and learning for children ages six months to sixth grade!

Little Explorers programs are for children six months to four years and their adult companions.
Discovery Camp, Jr. is for toddlers ages three and four, while K-sixth graders will have fun with
learning at Discovery Camp. Before and after care are available for Discovery Camp.
The Little Explorers programs offer little ones ages six months to four years a chance to play,
craft and learn along with their adult care-givers. Interactive themes and age-appropriate
activities nurture children’s natural curiosity and foster an early love of learning. Little
Explorers are divided into two groups – Scribbles and Dribbles and Little Leonardos.
Scribbles and Dribbles are for children six months to 35 months and their adult companions. Its
theme for summer 2011 is Mini Masters. Each week will focus on a nature painting by a famous
artist. The tiny artists will create their own versions of the masterpieces, hear a coordinating
story, then join in for music and motion! Scribbles & Dribbles’ 45 minute classes are offered
once a week in an eight week session. Class choices are available for Monday through Thursday
at either 9:00 a.m. or 11:00 a.m.

Little Leonardos is the Museum’s program for three and four-year-olds. The theme for summer
2011 is Inventors’ Workshop. Each hour long class is offered on eight consecutive Fridays, June
17 through August 12 at either 9:00 a.m. or 11:00 a.m. The program combines science and art in
unique, fun ways.

Discovery Camp, Jr. camps are week-long, half-day sessions (Monday - Friday, 9:30 a.m. -
noon) for children ages three to four years. This summer’s Discover Camp, Jr. takes campers all
across the country – without ever leaving Dallas. The overall theme is Road Trip, USA, and
allows campers to explore the animals, landscapes, history and fun offered in the different
regions of our vast nation.

Each week-long, full-day (Monday – Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.) Discovery Camp session
provides a different focus and unique activities for campers kindergarten through sixth grade.
Camp sessions are specifically designed for distinct age groups to maximize each child’s
experience. Children can travel back 65 million years, hit the high seas, experience real super
powers or dabble in magic potions! Before and after care are available, and begin at 8:30 a.m.
and go until 5:00 p.m.

Visit our web site to find out more about dates, themes, before and after care and costs.
Registration is also available online, via telephone at 214-428-5555 or through registration forms
to send through snail mail.
