Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in
the progression from it to the full product?

2. This is the preliminary draft for my content page. It has
been based on the contents page of magazines from the
same genre as the magazine I am making.
The masthead at the top of the page would be there to
remind people of the name of the magazine and it is at the
start of the route of the eye.
The main picture would be at the top of the page rather
than in the middle as this is conventional and is also placed
along the route of the eye.
The letter from the editor isn’t on the route of the eye so it
doesn’t seem too important.
The actual contents are on the route of the eye so they will
stand out to the audience and are seen as important as they
are the only reason for this page.
The subscription offer is there to encourage people to buy
my magazine more often.

3. This is the contents page from my actual magazine. Compared
to my preliminary task this magazine is only slightly different.
My actual magazine has no letter from the editor as this was a
waste of the limited space that I had.
The contents are at the bottom of the page just like they were in
the preliminary task. This is because it is conventional and it is
appealing to the target audience.
The picture is at the top of the page too as this will stand out
and is along the route of the eye.
The subscription offer has been moved because this would be
more convention and it is placed along the route of the eye.
