To Share: -Teacher Leaders -Cooperative Learning -Questioning -Conferencing
What and who is a  Teacher Leader? -Anyone willing! You!  -Someone who is committed to improving professional learning opportunities for self and others.  Someone who is willing to share and model ideas to better children’s education. -Some one who is motivated, communicates, is productive, takes initiative,coaches, sculpts, supports others, challenges others to improve, listens, cares, is considerate, has values, is flexible, ... Teacher Leadership = Successful School!
Cooperative Learning Line Up Wrap the Line Group Team Teaching Snowball Jigsaw Team Pair Share
Questioning -On average, teachers ask 80 questions per hour.  Students ask two. -Wait time!  (5-10 seconds) Pair/Share -Don’t call on students until at least half the class has raised their hands. -Differentiated Wait Time: -Boys need more wait time than girls. - Some students from poverty need more wait time  because they have less background knowledge. -Many students with learning disabilities need extra  processing time. -Gifted students have neural networks that are much  denser and their thoughts and responses are more  complex. -Higher Level Thinking: Describe, Explain, Develop, Classify Create, In Your Opinion -QAR: Right There, Think, Search Find, Author and Me, and On My Own
Conferencing SSR: So Important to know where you kids are! Methods:  File Folders & Binders Running Record: 100 Word Running Record Group Conferencing:  Students support and assist each other and may lead to richer conversation among students beyond the conference.  Great way to sell books to each other. Reading Response Journals: Sticky notes, Summary paragraph, Letter to the teacher, Web, Chart, List, or Illustration Fun way to Share a Book at the end of SSR: Group Share: 1-Share 2- Compliment 3- Question 4- Paraphrase Interruption Boa- While Conferencing Clipboard Math Skills- Check Off- Who needs to work on what
