2. A new edition of RSD: Relating systems thinking & design.
We are happy to announce that this year we have over 200 guests from 20 countries, coming
from the academic and practicing worlds. Even though this continues to be a lightweight
operation, supported by the Systemic Design Network, AHO and OCAD universities, and
Norwegian design consultancies, the community is already emerging. We have a great
program, international key speakers and lots of energy to continue shaping the systemic
design field. We look forward to seeing you soon, and we wish you a great trip to Norway!

7. What to bring
to Norway?
An unpredictable Autumn
The weather can span from 3 to 10 degrees Celsius, but
the temperature inside AHO will be warm. Be prepared
for a bit of rain and some mild winds.
200 guests, be ready to connect
This year we quickly sold out with participants coming
from over 20 countries. Be sure to pack yourself with
enough business cards to trade.
One of the most expensive alcohol in the world
A lightweight operation does not cover for drinks at the
party. So, due to our international diversity, bring your
national beverage from home and represent your country.
Prepare your dancing shoes
The music starts. After the dinner, on Thursday evening,
the dancing begins. Be sure to pack your favourite pair
of dancing companions.

9. About AHO: The Oslo School of Architecture and Design
The School was established in 1945 initially as a “crisis course” for architects who had seen their education interrupted by World War II. Prior to this,
most Norwegian architects were educated at the Norwegian Institute of Technology (NTH) in Trondheim, which was a polytechnic school. Throughout
the interwar period, many architects had called for a more artistically oriented architectural education, and for an institution based in Oslo, where the
most qualified teaching personnel were located. The architecture programme was initially run as part of The Norwegian Arts and Crafts School (SHKS),
but in 1961 AHO was established as an independent institution. From 1968 AHO was located at St. Olavsgate. 4. The school moved to the new campus
you see on the picture in 2001.
The first industrial design programme in Norway, the Institute of Industrial Design, was established at SHKS in 1983. In 1996, the Institute merged with
The Oslo School of Architecture. In 2005, The Oslo School of Architecture changed its name to The Oslo School of Architecture and Design. In 2009, the
Institute of Industrial Design changed its name to the Institute of Design.
