The class will take place in the computer lab. There are ten computers and a board. Students
will use the computers in pairs.
ACTIVATION: Teacher will ask the students about their likes and dislikes on literary genres. (5’)
Then they will do a JCROSS activity on vocabulary: types of stories/ genres. (15’)

and answer the

COMPREHESION AND CLARIFICATION
Students will read the text on page 26 “Cottingley fairies” (SEE APPENDIX) to elicit the past
perfect. Then they will do exercise 2 on page 27 (simple past vs past perfect) (20’)
APPLICATION
After that, they will do a JCLOZE activity on past tenses. Ss have to complete the gaps with
simple past, past perfect or past continuous. (15’)

5. Teacher and students will discuss orally the format of a story and then they will do a JMIX
activity to practise this structure. They have to put the sentences of a given story in order. (10’)
Objective: to do a pre-writing activity and get acquainted with the structure of a story.
