Calculating ceramic wall and floor tiles the easy way
Written by: Mark A G - http://www.alltradesuk.com

Measuring the correct amount of tiles has never been easy. Have you
purchased enough or have you purchased too many and will the ceramic tile
store have the excess tiles back?

If you measure up your bathroom or kitchen that you want to tile and take the
measurements to the ceramic tile store be it for floor tiles or wall tiles the
store will calculate how many tiles you need for you.

If you are intending to employ a professional tiler to do the job he should
measure up for you. That still leaves the problem of needing to know how
many tiles you will need and how much you need to budget.

The easiest way to solve any confusion is to use an online calculator. By
using an online calculator you can calculate how many wall or floor tiles you
will need from the comfort of your home.

All ceramic tiles will come in different sizes and this is where the online
ceramic tile calculator comes into its own.

Using the online calculator:
Measure the length and the width of the area to be tiled. Round this
measurement up to the nearest foot or meter.

Have you seen the tiles you want online yet? If so what size are they? 3x3,
4x4, 6x6, 8x8, 10x10, 12x12, 14x14, 16x16, 18x18, 24x24 are all possible
sizes of ceramic tile.

The online calculator will sort this out for you.

Enter the length and the width of the area to be tiled into the online calculator.
Then select the tile size that you require and click on the calculate button. For
this example, we shall use a 10ft by 8ft wall and we will use 6x6 tiles.

For the 10ft by 8ft wall we get a total tile area of 80 sq ft and we will be
requiring 352 tiles.

Repeat this process for each area that you will need tiling and you will not just
have a rough estimate of what you need but you will have an exact estimate
of how many tiles you need. The online calculator will even allow for the 10
percent cutting and breakage within the calculation.

Once you have this information you can budget accordingly and shop online
looking for the best deals on ceramic tiles.

Just click here to find a recommended local tradesman that can help you with
all your ceramic wall and floor tiling needs.
