Our client is one of the UK’s most innovative companies and is looking for a Big Data Architect to sit
within a brand new “Big Data” team. As a Big Data Architect you will highly experience in big data
platforms such as Hadoop, Cassandra, MongoDB, NoSQL. You will have in depth experience designing
architecture for big data platforms and creating complex data strategies. You will be continuously
identifying new opportunities in a new exciting company that rapidly innovates, by developing new tools
and systems to exploit the data using state-of-the-art technology & algorithms. This is a great
opportunity for anybody who has experience and a keen interest in the following; big data, data mining,
machine learning, MapReduce, Hadoop. You will be one of the senior members of a rapidly growing
ambitious company and in turn be offered a competitive package with shares in the business
Client Facing Technical Lead/Architect role
Understand business drivers, functional and non-functional
Develop data strategy and data architecture
Responsible for architecting big data platforms with application knowledge to leverage queries
Provide thought leadership
QUALIFICATIONS
Extensive experience with big data platforms such as Hadoop, Cassandra, MongoDB, NoSQL, etc.
Ability to utilise them in enterprise Java applications
Experience with any relational database
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Experience in delivering large enterprise level applications
Should be strong in conceptualising and problem solving
Highly analytical, with structured thinking and decision making
Team leading skills with ability to present comfortably to senior management
Provide Mentoring to Junior Team members through knowledge share and reviews
Strong verbal and written communication with good exposure to working in a cross-cultural
environment
Should be able to mentor a team of technical architects and be able to network with Client technology
leaders, Directors, VP, etc.
Thought leader, participate in calls/relationships with analysts for the above areas
Identify and create patentable artifacts, guides and author papers and POV.
Present POV at internal and external forums, conferences, community meet-ups.
Leverage the project experience to develop solutions based on industry research.
