2. New Transport and Engineering Technology
Centre for Wetherill Park TAFE
The 19th June 2013, the state
government announced the approval
for funding which would allow the
construction of the Transport and
Engineering Technology Centre at
Wetherill Park TAFE
“The project will shift in delivery to
simulation, technology based training and
industry projects. Simulation technology
will be implemented across the areas of
engines and transmissions, fuel systems,
electronics, fluid power and driving
simulation for heavy vehicles. Expansion of
E-learning and the roll out of the National
Broadband Network will allow SWSI to
facilitate direct learning in the work place.
This will allow the student to learn on the
job via remote technology. It will also
provide an industry training hub for the
sector to advance the industry on a global
front.”

3. The following slides outline the recent proposals for the Transport Engineering Technology Centre at
Wetherill Park TAFE.
Plans and diagrams displayed were discussed at PCG9 (Project Control Group meeting #9) held at Wetherill
Park TAFE, 19/5/14.
These slides, do not represent the final design, and the images used are for illustrating ideas and concepts.
Feedback is to be channelled back to the Project officer,

September 1981 by Minister for Education,
the Hon. Paul Landa LL.B. M.L.C.
Today, Automotive Programs are delivered in the
following locations at Wetherill Park College:
• Light Vehicle Programs delivered in CP BLOCK
• Heavy Vehicle and Plant Programs delivered in:
• DP BLOCK (electrical & diesel)
• H BLOCK (engines , gear boxes, and final drives)
• F BLOCK (brakes, frames, hydraulics and
commercial classes)
• M BLOCK (stage 1 apprentice classes)
• Auto Electrical Programs delivered in CT, CP, DP & F
Blocks.

5. • Staff accommodation (staff rooms and
offices for head teachers, teachers and
clerical support staff) for automotive
programs at Wetherill Park are located
on the ground and second floor of J
Block, and in CT Block.
• J block also presents access issues for
disabled persons wishing to visit staff
accommodated on the second floor, as
there are no ramps or lifts for wheel
chair access.
