Google Latitude broadcast your location
Loca on‐based services (LBS), which helps friends network and find
each other based on their loca on. Google has its own LBS service
as well with the name “Google La tude”. Google La tude is a
loca on‐aware mobile app developed by Google. La tude allows a
mobile phone user to allow certain people on to track their
loca on. Via their own iGoogle accounts, the user's cell phone
loca on is mapped on Google Maps. The user can control the
accuracy and details of what each of the other users can see — an
exact loca on can be allowed, or it can be limited to iden fying the
city only. For privacy, it can also be turned off by the user, or a
loca on can be manually entered.
Google La tude come up with its new feature on Loca on History.
Whenever Google La tude is on, it records your loca on, and you
can go back to see where you’ve been.
Another new feature is loca on alerts. You can now get an alert
any me a friend of yours who allows you to see their loca on on
Google La tude is nearby. Alerts will come via email or SMS.
