3. Shots
• 1st half – 5 shots on target and 1 shot off target,
only 1 shot from outside the box.
• NO SHOTS IN 2ND HALF!!!
4. Formation
• 4-4-2 Diamond formation worked well, providing
cover for the back 4. This meant that Eynesbury
Rovers U21 struggled to break down AFC KR
defence
• High pressing worked well, defence sometimes
too high and get caught out.
• 24 times gained possession in ATT half of pitch
• Sloppy play meant losing possession 25 times
w/little or no pressure from opposing players.
Pressing & Possession
5. Defending
• Tight, compact defending meant opposition
had to play some top quality football to
progress or had to knock it long. Narrow
defending and wide attacking good, but
sometimes too narrow allowing opposing full
backs to press on, often leading to a 2 v 1
scenario.
6. Individual Mistakes
• AFC KR (#4) (Ben) – a few times where you could
have gone forward, instead chose to go
backwards – putting pressure on defence and GK.
• AFC KR LB (#3) (Tony) and RB (#2) (Aaron) – don’t
push up too high , too early – caught out of
position a few times when opposition counters.
• AFC KR (#15) (Taylor) – lost his man for 2nd goal
• Wingers - stay with the man you’re marking!!!!!!
7. Goals
• AFC KR - Both AFC KR goals come from AFC KR
corners
• AFC KR - 1st AFC KR goal come from high pressing
in ATT half > AFC KR corner > Goal
• EYNES - 2 fouls in space of 10 sec and lapse in
concentration at fault for the 1st Eynesbury goal
• EYNES - 2nd Eynesbury goal caused by high
defence and individual mistake (lapse in
concentration)
8. Good Play & Final Pass
• Some good combination play; some on the
counter, some worked well from the back
• If the final pass was better in those plays, AFC
KR would have X3 (Tripled) the amount of goal
scoring chances
