• Not an exercise, the firm is effectively running
• Everything (sales/purchase negotiation,
communication…) is “real”, from the sales
order to just before the shipping of goods.
• The shipping of the goods is virtual

11. Implementation of NAV: analysis
• We made a model company in Dynamics NAV
with the more common settings.
• We made a model process description.
• We change the settings of the model company
and the model processes where needed:
– Every firm has his own activity: sales of furniture,
catering with production, ergonomic items, wine and
chocolates, drinks, …
– Every firm has his own flow, reorder policy, settings…
– Some firms have several locations, no WMS,
production, assemblation, reservations for items…

13. Implementation of NAV: migration and
customization
• Migration:
– we made Excel templates to migrate data
(customers, vendors, items) from the actual
software towards Dynamics NAV
• Customization:
– Our Microsoft partner Van Roey made some
customization, but only if really needed
– We made the lay-outs
