Fault block mountains are formed when tectonic plates collide or move apart from each other under extreme pressure. They form between two parallel faults, resulting in a mountain range with a rift valley on one side. The mountains are shaped like blocks and composed of old, hard rocks with flat or gentle slopes. Fault block mountains provide resources like fish, water, timber, fertile land, and wildlife habitats to surrounding areas.

move towards or apart each other and the extreme
pressure helps the plates to collide and form the
fault block mountains.

parallel faults.

they have a rift valley besides it. And they are mostly in
ranges.

looked from up and a satellite picture.

the plates move in a conversional manner or diversion
manner.
 They are made up of old, hard rocks and they have flat or
slightly sloping surface.
