1419 Prince Henry started a navigation school.
1460 King Henry died. Portugal established trading centers on West African coast.
1488 Captain Bartolomeu Diaz of Portugal explored Southern tip of Africa.
1492 Spain paid Columbus to explore;he was first(?) European in Caribbean
1493 Pope Alexander VI established Line of Demarcation to set up peace between
