1. With their marriage back on track, it was time for the Williams to get jobs.
Up till now, they’d been living off the massive amount of cash they’d made
in their house move, having downsized considerably.
2. Aimee really wanted to take the
opportunity to start again as a chef. She
spent days cooking her best recipes
repeatedly, determined to get them right.
She didn’t think she could get
much better, and her fridge
certainly couldn’t take any
more leftovers. She would
start touting herself around
town soon.
3. Marley had a much easier time of it. He
had been a doctor, but wanted to pack
that in. It had been too cut-throat, too
mercenary. He didn’t want his medical
skills to go to waste though, or stop
helping people. So he rocked up at the
local fire station hoping to impress them.
4. The team didn’t really need a new member, but the boss could see the benefit of
having someone so highly trained on staff. Marley got himself a probationary
placement. He would have to improve his fitness drastically, and get his mechanical
knowledge up quickly.
Marley accepted these terms cheerfully. He loved the look of fire station. It had a
relaxed atmosphere, with a little kitchen and a games room upstairs. He was certain
he could get up to standard before his probation was over.
5. Aimee took her CV to all the
places in town, from the classy
restaurant to the cosy coffee
shop – anywhere to get her
first job. A first step on the
ladder of her new career.
But no one was willing to take a
chance on her.
Her lack of experience was telling,
people wanted to know why, if she
had always wanted to be a chef,
she had left it so late?
Why hadn’t she studied it at
school? Why had she become a
teacher instead?
6. In desperation she
even tried at the dive
bar, ready to reheat
burgers and fry chips.
But they weren’t
hiring either.
It was a disaster.
7. Trinity tries to get
Belladonna to go
out. Fight – B
accuses T of pitying
her.
With her love life back under control, Trinity was back to concentrating on her sister.
Belladonna’s paintings were all outdoor scenes, but they had to made up because she
never left the house to paint from life.
8. Belladonna hadn’t even bothered
to get out of bed that day. She had
fed Jerix and then retreated with a
new book of recipes she’d ordered
in the post.
9. After a bit of prompting
Belladonna got up and dressed.
But beyond that… she didn’t
want to go out and eat, or see a
movie, or go shopping….
She just didn’t fancy going out
that day. That was all.
Maybe tomorrow. Or the
weekend.
10. Trinity tried to tackle the
problem head on. She said
Belladonna’s excuses were
all garbage, she had to go
out some time. They began
to fight it out.
11. In anger, Trinity accused Belladonna
of being pathetic, a baby. Was she
scared of going outside or
something?!
Belladonna flipped, and lashed out
with a slap.
12. Trinity was left reeling.
They’d often fought, they
were sisters after all, but it
hadn’t got physical since
they were young teens.
She wasn’t sure what had
happened, but she felt like
she’d failed at something.
13. The twins retreated to
their rooms to sulk and
think over what had
just happened.
Jerix loved them both,
he wasn’t sure who to
go and comfort. Was
this fixable?
