2. Teresa had no idea where this one plant has come
from, and how. The ground is barren, she hasn’t planted
anything… but she waters it anyway. If it turns out to be
blight resistant she could make some money from it.
3. Malika was finally due to age
up, and decided not to invite her
old friends Megan or Annette.
She asked her new cadet friend
along instead. Carlie Riffin.
4. The aging process held no
surprises for her, and she became
a teenager with no problems.
Malika hadn’t wanted to be
friendless again after her age
up, so she had chosen Carlie with
care. Malika would age up
first, so she Would look up to her.
Carlie wasn’t far behind
though, so they wouldn’t be
separated for long at school.
Everything was going according
to the book.
5. Now a teen, Malika could join the
teen cadets. She loved it, spending
hours at HQ learning strategy, reading
case studies and training for the
future.
Being a policewoman was all she
wanted to do, and she would be the
best she could at it.
6. It wasn’t all hard graft though. As well as
Carlie, she had her eye on a fellow cadet who
showed as much promise as she did.
Malika had watched her mum struggle to
find work, and her dad to find something
meaningful to do. She felt she was well
ahead of the game.
7. Over dinner Trinity dropped a
bombshell, and Edward whisked her
upstairs away from her sister to
discuss it.
Trinity had decided she wanted out.
She wanted to quit now while she was
ahead and before she got arrested.
Their work had gotten bigger recently,
stealing from the government was a
step too far from her.
8. What with her twins aversion to criminal activity, it was a no-brainer as far as she was
concerned. She could quit and still be in love with him.
He told her he didn’t want to fight, but he couldn’t risk her quitting. The way it worked
was that everyone involved with him underwent criminal activity so he knew they
couldn’t snitch on him without implicating themselves.
9. Trinity told him to listen.
She’d been a criminal for
years, she was no grass.
She just wanted to go straight
for her own peace of mind.
She’d grown up a lot the last
few years, and her sister had
opened her eyes to a lot of
problems in her life.
She loved him.
10. Edward wasn’t having any of it.
He was a master criminal boss who
never made mistakes. Either you were
in, or you were out.
11. That got Trinity riled
up. How dare he. She
was her own
woman, this was her
decision to make. He
was her partner not
her boss.
She told him in no
uncertain terms he
was an arrogant arse.
If she wanted out of
the business, he had
to accept that about
her.
12. Edward shocked her to
the core by telling her
it was over between
them.
He was her boss first
and lover
second, when had she
forgotten that? He
cared for her
deeply, bus his
business, his dream of
a dynastic criminal
empire came before
anything.
13. Trinity was crushed.
She had completely
misunderstood her
relationship with
Edward from the start.
She couldn’t decide if
she was heartbroken
or better off.
Belladonna held her
while she cried.
