2. Job Outline
To devise, implement and co-ordinate successful sales and marketing initiatives in
conjunction with senior management and appropriate other staff, in order for the business
to achieve its development objectives.
To help develop and promote a strong and recognisable Company image to customers
and potential customers.
Principle Objectives and Responsibilities including the following, other objectives
may be assigned:
Assist in the design and production of marketing literature including flyers, letters,
adverts and other documents used by the business, preparation of artwork and
drafts using the company online system (PAM), in-house design team or external
agencies
Prepare all planned and ad-hoc marketing literature for corporate and schemes
teams
Arrange for printing of marketing literature, using preferred suppliers, within agreed
timescales and costs and ensure effective distribution to existing/potential
customers and affinity partners.
To design marketing literature for schemes incorporating any offers/incentives
applicable at the time ensuring ROI is recorded
Ensure all marketing literature remains up to date/compliant
Compile letters/flyers to be sent to prospective/lost clients as part of new business
prospecting process
Manage all websites/landing pages/e-shots, preparing content for the web team to
upload whilst recording all costs
Compile and cleanse email address database of prospects and clients for the
quarterly retail marketing newsletter
Research and prepare articles relevant for the local business and trade
association publications
Prepare and distribute central and internal press releases to the local
Northamptonshire press
Manage internal communications by updating the news boards, providing news to
the Intranet, Teamsport and Broking “Good News Stories”
3. Organise and manage any social or corporate hospitality events internally or
externally
Take responsibility for the planning and organisation of specific “Sales Days” or
other office wide campaigns/projects/seminar
Ensure activity from Sales Days is monitored and renewal dates are gathered
Work along side Operations and Sales Directors to produce marketing plans and
budget and keep record of costs
Provide research facility for identification of new proposals and/or potential for new
marketing initiative
Implement, control and report results of any agreed specific sales or marketing
campaigns
Liaise with affinity partners to carry out joint marketing plans
Maintain the Financial Promotions Register
4. KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS
The role requires:
A good appreciation and knowledge of the various sales and marketing disciplines,
methods and procedures appropriate to the business
A basic understanding of Commercial Insurance covers (however, an in-depth
knowledge is not required as the job holder is not required to provide detailed
advice with regard to a potential client’s specific insurance needs)
Interpersonal skills to aid successful development work with potential customers
and colleagues
Gain an understanding of compliance requirements with regard to Sales and
Marketing material
