Khwaja Ahmad Abbas was an Indian film director, screenwriter, novelist, journalist, and columnist who was born in 1914 in Panipat, Haryana. He was active from 1935 until his death in 1987 in Mumbai, Maharashtra at the age of 72. Some of his notable works included the novels 20th March 1977: A Day Like Any Other Day and Indira Gandhi: The Last Post.
