2. Introduction
• I quite like the idea of some sort of scheme in
a thriller or where something is happening on
screen but the audience, however due to this
only being the opening to a thriller there is a
limit to how much my group and I can film in
terms of the actual storyline.
3. Plot
• With only little discussion about the opening,
I’ve been thinking about what my group and I
could produce. I like psychological aspects to
films, whereby characters have been
emotionally and physically scarred by certain
situations, with flashbacks to what happened
to them in the past. Perhaps they encountered
conflict and are now trying to resolve it.
4. Plot
• I also like the idea of a teen drama, in this case
a group of teenagers get into some trouble
involving a serious crime, at a certain point
the group of teenagers begin to encounter
drug problems and are now trying to get away
from the police and other suspicious
characters. During their journey they meet
some good people and some bad people
5. Location
• The best location I would think would be in
Central London for some action packed
scenes, or anywhere with busy road with
some police cars and lights, this would be
perfect in order to create some intense scenes
where a group of teenagers may be trying to
get away from someone.
• This location would also be effective in
creating a tense atmosphere.
6. Location
• Another good location for filming would be a
place that is popular for teens to spend their
time, maybe at a shopping centre or a party
where the group of teenagers encounter their
first issue or perhaps when these teenagers
first meet each other or a bad character.
Locations like these would attract a younger
demographic as they could relate to these
locations and events.
7. Characters
• Characters who would be a part of this
opening to a thriller would be a group of
around four or five teenagers, depending on
location we may need somebody playing the
character of a parent or guardian, someone
older and responsible.
8. Costumes
• Costumes could vary quite widely if this
thriller was hugely based upon some
teenagers.
• It would definitely need to be fashionable and
popular at this current time so that it is not
outdated and that teenagers watching this
opening would become more immersed in the
film.
9. Costumes
• However costumes of the other characters,
whether this character is a responsible adult
or a bad character (a drug dealer of some sort)
would dress obviously differently to represent
their authority
• An adult may be dressed more smartly e.g. A
blazer, while the others are very casual e.g. A
pair of tracksuits.
10. Make up
• If the characters are female and young they could
have normal makeup e.g. Eye shadow, lipstick etc.
An older woman may use less makeup and darker
makeup like for example a darker red lipstick
which could represent a sophisticated woman.
• Other makeup could be special effects makeup
for example if one of the characters was to be
wounded, special FX makeup could be used to
emphasise the injury.
11. Props
• Depending on what we decide to do for our
opening to a thriller, there could be any types
of props used to show significance of a certain
situation, for example if the group of
teenagers are in serious trouble a gun could
be used to show how severe the issue is so
that it is easier for the audience to
understand.
