Educators do not utilize students' mobile devices in the classroom for several reasons: they fear losing control over students and classroom distraction; they are uncomfortable with the technology and do not know how to incorporate it effectively into lessons; and they are apprehensive about students knowing more about the technology than the educators themselves. Many responses indicated that educators' ignorance and fear of the unknown prevent them from seeing the educational potential of students' mobile devices.
