Total length: 18 nautical miles
Passage from Buoy No. 0 to Hon Mot is 11.8 Nautical miles, 300 m wide, -13 m deep
against the port datum.
Passage from Hon Mot to Cua Luc is 4.2 Nautical miles, 80m wide, -8,1m deep
against the port datum.
Passage from Cua Lục to Cai Lan Port is 2 Nautical miles, 130m wide, -10m deep
against the port datum.
On 24 Sept. 2004, The Prime Minister has approved the project to upgrade and
dredged the passage from Hon Mot to Cua Luc up to the depth of -10m, 130m wide
which is capable of receiving vessels up to 40.000 – 45.000 DWT. The dredging works
is expected to commence from Sept.2005 and taken for 5 months.

7. - By 2005 to construct the railway which connect Bac Ninh Province to
Pha Lai.
(The detour of Kep - Bac Giang station is over and the distance is
reduced 60km).
- It is expected that the railway to Cai Lan Port to be commenced from
May 2005 and complete by 2007. This railway is built with two gauges
1.435m and 1.05m nationally and internationally.
- It is expected that during 2010-2015 the Highway Noi Bai-Ha Long to be
complete.

1. Quang Ninh Port will provide the assistance policies on
handling and storage charges for the customers for the
initial operation year. The specific assistances depend on
the kind of goods and the throughput of each kind of cargo.
2. Accepting the container handling operation as follows:
vessels (or barge) – truck then go straight or vice versa
including the transhipment by barge to alongside the vessel
at the berth for handling.
At present two Tariffs havebeenapplied:
+ Foreign Tariff.
+ Domestic Tariff.
27. 3. Providing and assisting partly of the tallying, freight
forwarding, lashing, unlashing charges for the first two
years operation.
4. The yard and warehousing charges on the necessary
cargo kept in the warehouses and yards for vanning to
the container will be considered for reduction.
5. 60 days of yard storage charge is exempted for empty
container which is waiting for export vanning at Cai Lan
Port.
6. 30 days of yard storage charge is exempted for custom
clearance container for export.
7. 15 days of yard storage charge is exempted for import
custom clearance container.
8. The imported container doing the custom procedures at
Cai Lan Port is considered to be reduced by 10% of
loading, unloading and custom inspection charges as
per the Port’s tariff.
28. 9. The loading, unloading, vanning/devanning services are
provided 24/24 hr as registered at least in advanced 6
hours by the customers.
10. Propose to the Government for permission of opening the
bonded warehouse and container transit services.
11. Assistance in dealing with the legal formalities such as:
port authority, security border gate, quarantine, custom
procedure as required from the customers.
12. Assistance in dealing with the legal formalities relating to
the opening of the Container routes through Cai Lan Port,
assistance in setting up the branches, representative
offices as required from the customers
