1. The masthead of my magazine is 'Rhythm and Blues'
what are your initial thoughts on it?

The masthead idea is very strong with the public as you can see however there were
some comments which referred to the impact the masthead has on the magazine, they
believed that is wasn’t trendy enough and seemed a little cliché. I have decided that I
will change my masthead and opt for something more catchy and adventurous.

Considering that the majority of the answers were for £4.00 I have decided to
sell my magazine for this price as it is clearly around the amount at which most
people would be willing to purchase my magazine for

Here we see that rock and jazz are the least popular genre out of the six which rules
them out of consideration. R&B which is my chosen genre has a good following which is
important as this confirms the strong interest in my genre.

80% of the public believe that a DPS article based on a upcoming artist would be better
than a article based on a breakthrough single/artist according to these statistic the idea
of a DPS article based on a upcoming artist would probably attract more readers which
will boost sales and therefore I have decided to go with the idea.

5. The colour scheme of the magazine is shades of blue
what are your initial thoughts on the colour
scheme, does is compliment the genre of the magazine?

All of the public thought that the colour scheme of shades of blue suited my magazine and
the genre because of the coolness and masculinity of blue, R&B is heavily dominated by
men and the forefathers of the genre were men and this colour really compliments the
genre.

6. The genre of my magazine is contemporary R&B, what
gender do you best think would represent the genre and
why?

Most of the public believe that contemporary R&B is best represented by females as
today most of the best contemporary R&B singers are female however some people
disagreed as they believed that importance was in the forefathers of the genre. I
have therefore decided to follow the trends and use a female artist for the front
cover of my magazine and a male artist for the DPS.

7. My target audience is people aged 16 to 24, do you think
this TA is suitable for the genre of contemporary R&B?

The majority of people thought that the ages chosen as my target audience were suitable
and therefore I will not be making several changes to my magazine and the TA.
