1. Investigation Dept.
As the Investigation Team, we had to carefully consider all the information given throughout the
various muster reports each week and begin to piece together what happened in Jefferson Falls.
The investigation department were required to work with the team to establish the most likely
suspects for the murders by analysing the suspect profiles and sworn statements.
• This was achieved by discussing the key points about each of the suspects in order to rule out
certain people and define who would be carried forward as the main suspects for the case
• We looked at the physical features such as height and weight in relation to who would have
the capability of moving the bodies if this had been carried out following the murder
• Potential personal motives were considered for each of the suspects and we came up with
reasons why the suspects may have been provoked so far as to kill the victims
• We also looked at previous offences, if any, committed by the suspects and whether the
nature of the crimes committed made them likely to have the capability of murder
• Making current and past connections between each suspect involved was also important.
• Through the group discussion we worked on the clues and came up with the most plausible
theory in relation to the sworn statements and suspect profiles- Week 3 the suspect list and
statements were released, we had to thoroughly reflect on all the different stories and
information supplied by each suspect.
• This task helped improve problem solving skills of not only those involved in the Investigation
Team but also the group as a whole.
