1. Omar Padilla Velez RISE Program<br />Seminar I by Eileen Rodriguez<br />The seminar given by Eileen Rodriguez was about possible solutions for gastro intestinal problems. The intestine’s purpose is the passage of substances. This is achieved by contractions and relaxation of the muscle. In some disorders the muscle is unable to contract. Miss Eileen explain that by blocking the R-channels, using nickel chloride (NiCLl2), nitrous oxide is not produce and relaxation is stopped, in other words the muscle contracts. Also by using Apamin, which blocks the channels of the muscle cell, the contractions are furthered.<br />
