Position: Human Resources Manager
Reporting to: Managing Director
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
An Executive Management position responsible for provision of overall HR Direction in
supporting the Business’s Strategy as follows:
a) HR specialist advisory role
• Advisor to the MD, Management and Staff on all people management aspects in the
Business.
• Providing Coaching, Mentoring and Counselling Training and Services to staff
• Preparing and presenting HR Board papers to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT)
b) Strategic Partnerships and Relationship Building
• Partnering with Business Units to inculcate the organization’s culture and values.
• Building relationships within and outside the organisation with key stakeholders.
c) Accountable for Business’s HR Direction
• Responsible for spearheading the development and implementation of the HR Strategy,
Performance Management and budget.
• Responsible for directing and managing the HR team
d) Learning and Development
• Playing a key role in defining, implementing and managing the leadership development
initiatives.
• Consulting with Business Units to address key development needs by facilitating appropriate
learning initiatives and interventions.
e) Support the Business in driving a Performance Culture.

MAJOR ACHIEVEMENTS
Satisfactory Audit Ratings for HR Department during tenure of office as Human
Resources Manager at Malawi Mangoes (Operations) Limited. The Department had
unsatisfactory ratings prior to my coming.
Involved in various change initiatives i.e. drafting, writing, submitting and implementing best
practice HR policies as approved by MDs e.g. performance management policy, recruitment
and selection policy, HIV/AIDS policy and all HR Policies.
Whilst with Illovo Sugar Ltd, I reorganized my Industrial Relations (IR) Team according
to the Departments and Sections. This enhanced performance as every Team Member
had a clear line of responsibilities and the Line Management are able to follow up their
IR issues without difficulties. This is the model that was warmly accepted by the
management and it is still being used up to now.
Designing the Employee/Management consultative meetings (Joint Consultative
Committee) and its agenda at Malawi Mangoes (Operations) Limited.
Designing and implementing the staff handbook for Malawi Mangoes (Operations)
Limited.
Involved in policy making and advise the Senior Management Team of the same.
Setting up of Malawi Mangoes HR Team to support the business.
