- The thyroid is one of the most important glands of your body. It’s been called “the master gland” the “manager” gland and “the brains” of your body’s gland system…it’s kind of like New York to the rest of the country. It is very influential…but you may not even know where it is or what it does.
- The thyroid is a 2-inch-long, butterfly-shaped gland weighing less than 1 ounce. Located in the front of the neck below the larynx, or voice box, it has two lobes, one on each side of the windpipe
