also known as "psychotic" behaviors. People with these
symptoms are sometimes unable to tell what's real from
what is imagined.
*These symptoms are
*Hallucinations
*Delusions

*A teen developing schizophrenia may start getting bad
grades in school, Change friends, Have trouble sleeping,
Be irritable or moody.
6. *Some causes Of Schizophrenia are the Genes, because the
illness can be inherited from someone in the family, or the
environment, such as viruses and nutrition problems before
birth, and people with different brain structure and brain
chemistry.
* Scientists have learned a lot about schizophrenia. They are
identifying genes and parts of the brain that may play a role
in the illness. Some experts think the illness begins before
birth but doesn't show up until years later.
7. *
The most common treatment for schizophrenia is a family of
drugs called Phenothiazine drugs.
They are the most effective against the “positive” symptoms of
schizophrenia such as hallucinations and delusions. They are
the most widely used family of drugs for this mental disorder
due to their high effectiveness.
8. *
The downside to using these chemical drugs is that they do harm your body in the
long run.
But luckily, there are some more natural supplements you can add to fight
against some of the harm the chemicals from the antipsychotics are doing
to your body.
9. *
*Coenzyme Q10- Since phenothiazine drugs deplete the body of the
coenzyme Q10, you take this supplement.
*Fish Oil- Has been shown to have helpful interaction against these drugs
since it contains the essential fatty acids in the omega-3 family. Fish oil has
also shown to be beneficial in the treatment of depression.
*Milk Thistle- It protects against the liver toxicity sometimes caused by
phenothiazine drugs.
*Ginkgo- Reduces the side effects and increases the efficacy of various
antipsychotics.
10. *
*Vitamin E- has a possible helpful interaction against one of the most feared
side effects of phenothiazine called tardive dyskinesia, which are annoying
uncontrollable movements, particularly in the face.
*Vitamin B6- also helpful against TD, while also reducing symptoms of
akathesia, which is a type of restlessness associated with the phenothiazine
drugs.
*Dehydroepiandrosterone- Reduces the Parkinson-like movement
disorders that may occur in these drugs.
*Glycine- Schizophrenia can be treated with this natural remedy, but it only
helps with the “negative” side effects. But, while taking phenothiazine drugs,
glycine has shown to enhance the effects of the drugs, while also fighting
against the “negative” symptoms that are not treated very well with
antipsychotics alone.
