People! Ideas! Communities! Information!
Canada’s libraries foster connections between people,
ideas, communities, and information.
We are pleased to announce that October is Canadian Library
Month and October 14th - 20th is Ontario Public Library
Week. Visit your Library and celebrate with us. There will be
lots happening all week including a draw to win an eReader!

This year’s theme, Libraries Connect is a great
reminder of just how essential libraries are
in the interconnected world in which we
live. Libraries are at the centre of our
communities, providing a public space
for people to meet, learn, connect
and grow. From coast to coast,
libraries help direct the flow of
information and resources. They are
places of endless opportunity and
provide Canadians with equitable access
to important resources.

Every day, year round, libraries across the
country are committed to expanding and
developing their resources in order to link
patrons with the services they need and foster
connections between people, ideas and
communities. Print collections, reference
services, public programmes, downloadable
books, music, movies, Internet access, electronic
databases, eReaders, gaming and social media
are just some of the services libraries offer to help
people find what they need.

Libraries, including public, academic, school and special
libraries, make an enormous contribution to the personal,
professional, academic and creative growth of Canadians.
As well, Library and Archives Canada, the country’s national
library, collects and preserves Canada’s documentary heritage.

Let’s all celebrate Canadian Library Month in October
2012 because… Libraries Connect!
Visit your library today.

  • 16. People! Ideas! Communities! Information! Canada’s libraries foster connections between people, ideas, communities, and information. We are pleased to announce that October is Canadian Library Month and October 14th - 20th is Ontario Public Library Week. Visit your Library and celebrate with us. There will be lots happening all week including a draw to win an eReader! This year’s theme, Libraries Connect is a great reminder of just how essential libraries are in the interconnected world in which we live. Libraries are at the centre of our communities, providing a public space for people to meet, learn, connect and grow. From coast to coast, libraries help direct the flow of information and resources. They are places of endless opportunity and provide Canadians with equitable access to important resources. Every day, year round, libraries across the country are committed to expanding and developing their resources in order to link patrons with the services they need and foster connections between people, ideas and communities. Print collections, reference services, public programmes, downloadable books, music, movies, Internet access, electronic databases, eReaders, gaming and social media are just some of the services libraries offer to help people find what they need. Libraries, including public, academic, school and special libraries, make an enormous contribution to the personal, professional, academic and creative growth of Canadians. As well, Library and Archives Canada, the country’s national library, collects and preserves Canada’s documentary heritage. Let’s all celebrate Canadian Library Month in October 2012 because… Libraries Connect! Visit your library today. ONTARIO PUBLIC LIBRARY WEEK OCTOBER 14TH - 20TH, 2012
