2. What is Secure Print Release?
 With secure print release, print jobs will be held until the user is ready
to print.
 Print jobs are only “released” to those authorized to print them.
 Said user can authenticate themselves either at the printer, using
embedded software on the printer or through an external device (e.g. a
smartcard).
 After authentication, the user will be presented with a list of available
print jobs.
 The user can pick and choose which jobs they wish to print at any given time.

cell phone.
 Printer/MFD – Users can select the OM Plus MPD App embedded on
selected printers/MFD’s.
 Card Swipe – Users can swipe their card on specific badge readers for
direct MPD printing.
 Release Workstation – Users can use OM Plus MPD feature on
dedicated release workstations.

7. How MPD Security Works
 User credentials are verified by OM Plus MPD (Active Directory, LDAP)
making the retrieval process safe and secure.
 Jobs can be delivered to any device defined to the OM Plus system
providing a significant mobility factor.
 In addition, users can redirect print jobs to other devices should there be
a problem with the initial target device.
 Jobs are held in the OM Plus MPD system for a user defined period of time so
they can be retrieved later on at a different device (e.g. in case of printer failure).
