Technology plays very important role in spatial decision making and provides spatial solutions for better management facilities. Spatial Decisions is a Planning, Engineering and Information Solutions with core expertise in Urban, Regional & Environmental Systems and those solution and services which are in the technological realm of Geographic Information Systems (http://www.spatialdecisions.com). One of the major obstacles for efficient spatial planning in urban India is a lack of up-to-date, comprehensive attribute and spatial information about urban systems. This lack of information is a major reason behind the failure of urban systems to include slums systems in planning and urban development. Like other major cities in India, Chennai has large slum population with poor sanitation and water facilities. The city suffers from inadequate infrastructure provision, which has not kept up with the rapid urban growth. The pattern of inadequate provision is reflected in the slums in the city, where inadequate basic amenities result in poor living environments. Geo-spatial Technology has been used to map the slums, analyze water and sanitation facilities in the slum areas of Chennai city. The incidence of malaria has been attributed in a large measure to storage of fresh water in containers within the houses. The Geospatial Technology helps to understand the spatial behavior, changing spatial organization of health care and provide spatial solutions for policy makers with attribute information.
